Computer Programming, also known as software development or engineering, is an extensive sector of IT. Computing-devices have operated programs and applications since their first release, & so software engineering is now very well developed. Corporate database-software, for instance, is commonly written in 'languages' that suit that environment, whereas games are generally written in low-level languages like C - as they must be able to run as quick as possible. It doesn't really matter if display screen changes take a couple of milliseconds longer with database applications, however it matters a good deal with video games applications. If you're new at all to programming, think of taking a programming introduction module first of all. A 'support' certification will help you to acquire your 1st IT job. Normal study periods would probably be about 600 - 700 hrs for a full career track, & so you'd generally plan for 12-18m of part-time study.
